A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander) Empty A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander)

Post by Euphemia Balas Tue Jun 02, 2015 10:20 am

It had finally been a week since Euphemia had made the deal with Alexander to reveal her age if he abstained from ruining lives, and it was time to tell him.  Unless, of course, if he had failed, though she hoped that he had succeeded.  Perhaps he would feel that ruining the lives of innocents was unnecessary, though after only a week that was fairly doubtful.  At many points during the week she had wondered if the length of time had been too short, especially for a deal between two immortals, but in the end there was no way that she could go back on her decision.  He had earned the right to know, even if he wasn't the best type of person all the time.

Euphemia had arrived at Fluorescence about an hour before it had opened, preparing for a long night full of countless varieties of people, just like any other night.  It was a nice routine, if a bit monotonous, but it was the odd customers who made her work interesting, especially if Alexander happened to come.  She had not seen him since the deal had been made, which she assumed was an attempt to keep himself out of trouble, making her look forward to him showing up.  There was not a doubt in her mind that he would not come, seeing as he had plenty of reason to.  A part of her felt as if it was not yet prepared to admit to him how old she was, especially in comparison to him, and she could only guess as to what questions he would ask.  In the end, she gave up trying to think about it.

Soon enough the club was open and the first steady stream of customers was slowly flowing in, though Euphemia did not see Alexander among them.  She shrugged it off, knowing that he would turn up sooner or later; he simply had to with that much incentive.  She busied herself with making customers' drinks, waiting.

A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander) Empty Re: A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander)

Alexander had made a recording of his day to day life for a week. To show prove that he was able to do the thing that Euphemia had requested prior request. After the week finished he stopped recording. Making his way towards the place she worked at. Once arrived Alexander hoped she would give him her age. He would then simply sigh and shake his head sighing slowly. Euphemia would be very proud of him that he managed to do it for an entire week. He was sure she had doubts about. Of course that was always the case. Alexander shook his head yet again. He once he entered. He noticed Euphemia. Making his way towards her he would take a seat on one of the stools and hand her a phone, with a week's of recording.

"Week's of Recording of my life. If you see I have not broken a rule. Now I've kept my end of the bargain I believe it's your turn to keep yours my dear, Euphemia." he told her calmly. He looked at her Euphemia. Sure looked rather lovely at the current moment. He shook those thoughts off him. As he did he would then smile."How have you been? It's been a week. What have you been up to Euphemia. Serving Alcohol to those drinks?" he asked her curiously. Hoping to get a Straight forward answer.

Shaking his head he spoke."You really should visit my castle some time. Maybe together I can serve you the drink instead of you serving me one? What do you say?" he asked her in a curiously manner as he offered her options."I have a wide collection of books. I've acquired over the years. I'm sure you would take a liking to them, Euphemia." he told her. It was true Alexander had acquired a collection of different books over the years that he had in his massive library for him to read when he was bored. He hoped Euphemia would enjoy it. Waiting for some form of reply to his offers, statements, and questions.

A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander) Empty Re: A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander)

Euphemia caught sight of Alexander as he entered the club and neared the bar, happy that he had shown up.  It would have been a great disappointment if he had skipped the meeting, however informal it was.  Over the past week she had been really looking forward to it, at least, when she was not worrying about it.  She could not help but wonder what Alexander would think of her, if anything different, and if it would change anything at all.  She glanced down at the phone, confused until he explained. "Well, I must admit that I didn't expect you to provide that much evidence of your achievement, but at least now I know you actually did it." She grinned, preparing to give him a choice. "Okay, I could either tell you straight up how old I am, or I could tell you what time period I was born in and work from there.  Short or long, you choose." With that said she waited for his decision, open for either way.

If he wanted to get straight to the point Euphemia would go ahead and tell him how old she was, down to the nearest year that she could identify; it was difficult at this point to really be sure about the exact number of years she had been alive, but judging by history and records she could make educated guesses.  She knew for certain that she was somewhere near two-and-a-half centuries old, born around the Plague of Athens which doomed her family, which placed her birth between 430 and 426 BC.  Seeing as her family had died before she could properly remember, it could be assumed that that happened before she turned four.  She had been told stories about them with a few rough estimates thrown in, telling her that her father had died around the time she was born, four years before her last family member perished, and thus a proper guess could be made.  She was almost certainly 2445-years-old, much older than Alexander was.

"Life's been pretty bland, but kind of okay.  Just the usual, really; serving drinks, wiping counters, all that boring stuff.  What about you?" She was curious as to how he had kept himself from what seemed to be his habit, "How did you ever survive a whole week without ruining lives?  It was probably hard, I'm sure." She was being sarcastic, to a point, but having fun with it.  Hopefully he would not take her words the wrong way, though she did not think he would. "Hm... castles and books... Well you certainly know what I like, though I've probably read the vast majority of them depending on where you got them from." Euphemia had spent a lot of her life reading, when she wasn't exploring, and had read too many books to count. "I'll consider it, that's all I can offer for now."

A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander) Empty Re: A Centuries-old Secret (Alexander)

Alexander gave Euphemia a warm and gentle smile her way his eyes narrowed when she spoke. He gave a fake laugh. "Well Dear. I told you I would do it. And I did it. When you strike an offer such as that. I couldn't refuse." He told her quietly. His eyes blinking. As he went into deep thought. You know that week was very hard to do. The urges of ruining lives were there. But thankfully I managed. I had to furiously hit something in order to make sue I got myself to the next day. Those punching bags must be broken by now. He thought to himself. Now all that hard work paid off. Now all he had to do was simply await a answer His eyes narrowed against even narrower. Before he relaxed them.

Shaking his head slowly. "The first Option would be nice. Or you can tell me both versions? What do you think. I simply prefer the first option. So tell me how old are you exactly." Perhaps she was Eight Hundred to One thousand years of age. She couldn't be older he was sure of this. Well he had been proven wrong in the past. While he was fleeing from the Vampires Kings, and the Werewolf Blood Mage. He was annoying pest. Capturing Alex in the past. He shook his head and sighed. Best not dwell in the past while it still haunted him. He listened and chuckled when she asked about how his life was.

Oh that was laughable indeed. A Week's worth of not ruining anyone's life. And she asked this. He smiled."To tell you the truth. It's been a very hard week.. Struggling to maintain myself without ruining anyone's life. It's been real hard." he said quietly. Once she told him her age. It's back to ruining lives. He did his part now it was her part, then simply back to his old self. He looked at her as he noticed her sarcasm. He didn't take offense to it.

"If you want to know. It was hard as I said. But the long term achievement of knowing your age would prove very satisfying. Wouldn't you say? You know how old I am. It would only be fair if I knew how old you were?" He leaned forward."Maybe we can grab dinner afterwards." he winked, at her and pulled back as he joked while he laughed a bit. It was fun to mess with her now that he new she had no interest in him. To that last bit she said. He replied."Fair enough." he said quietly.
