Family Background: His mother and Father died in a car acident when he was 20, and his fiancee died in the riot attack on Oliver Queen.
History:
Ray Palmer and his fiancée Anna got attacked by Slade Wilson's soldiers during Slade's city wide riot to attack Oliver Queen, both psychologically and physically. Ray tried to fight them but they broke his leg and killed Anna. After this he promised himself he would never kiss another woman again, and he would find a way to save the city from this kind of danger.

Right now he is working on taking over Queen Consolidated from Oliver Queen, and looking to hire his tech specialist Felecity Smoak. He also is going to use the resources of owning Queen Consolidated to build the idea he has for becoming a vigilante.
